Quick start

Install Ravioli in Applications and launch it. The ravioli icon appears in the menu bar and Ravioli starts watching for copied text. On first use, macOS may ask for Accessibility permission so Ravioli can paste into the app you were using.

   Use ⌘ C in any Mac app. Ravioli adds text clips to its local history.

   Type to filter the menu, then select a clip or snippet to insert it.

Everyday use

Find anything from the menu

The menu brings together pinned clips, recent clipboard history, images, snippets, and automatic Smart Folders. Use the search field at the top to filter clips and snippets without leaving the app you are working in.

Click an item to paste it immediately. Ravioli also remembers the source app and copy time, tracks usage, and can move frequently used items into a Most Used section. Pin something permanently when it must stay at the top; Ravioli Pro can also pin it for one hour or one day.

The complete menu with previews and contextual actions is enabled by default. If you prefer a compact list, enable Simple Menu in General settings. The Hints section explains useful actions in context and can be disabled from the menu or Settings.

More control

Choose exactly what gets pasted

For images, Paste with Edit opens a visual workspace with percentage size presets and exact pixel output, crop ratios, rotation and flipping, color treatments, and background presets for polished screenshots.

Smart items add smaller actions of their own—for example, open a detected URL, paste its domain or query value, reuse a phone number’s digits, open a configured ticket or pull request, or run a copied Terminal command.

Build a snippet library

1. Open Settings → Snippets.
2. Create a snippet at the root, or create a group and add it there.
3. Give the snippet a short menu title, enter the text to paste, and optionally record a custom shortcut.
4. Open Ravioli and select the snippet from its section or group.

You can also save the current clipboard directly from the menu. Root snippets are always easy to reach; groups keep larger libraries organized. Smart Sorting can rank snippets by how often you use them.

Snippet packs are optional built-in collections. They are off by default: enable only the packs you want, search the catalog, and switch any pack off later without changing your own snippets.

Automatic organization

Let Smart Folders recognize copied text

Ravioli detects useful shapes in clipboard content and places matching items into Smart Folders. Open Settings → Smart Folders to enable only the categories you want and to control the Most Used threshold.

Image text recognition runs in the background with Apple’s on-device Vision framework, so the clipboard menu can open immediately. When OCR finishes, the image menu shows actions for pasting all recognized text or individual lines.

Context actions depend on the detected type. Add tracker base URLs for ticket keys and repository bases for pull requests so Ravioli can build complete links and open them in your browser.

Language tools

Translate or repair the keyboard layout

Enable Translate in Settings → Translation and choose English, Spanish, German, French, Japanese, or Russian as the target language. Copy text and open the Translate section in the menu, or use the Translate shortcut to work from the current selection.

Translation uses Apple’s macOS Translation framework and may need Apple language resources. It is available on macOS 26 or later.

If text was typed with the wrong keyboard layout, use a converted paste action from the item menu. The cycle-layout shortcut copies the current selection, converts it to the next available keyboard layout, and pastes the result immediately.

Default keyboard shortcuts

Open Settings → Shortcuts to replace the configurable defaults. Some advanced shortcuts and actions require Ravioli Pro. A shortcut already reserved by macOS or another app may need to be changed before Ravioli can register it.

Preferences

Make Ravioli fit your workflow

• General: start at login, show or hide hints, menu search, and section counters.
• Clipboard: choose how many recent clipboard items Ravioli keeps and how frequently used content is ranked.
• Appearance: select a settings theme, hero artwork family, and menu-bar icon.
• Privacy: mask sensitive values in menus without changing the saved original.
• Smart Folders: turn recognition categories on or off and configure ticket and pull-request bases.

Direct-download installations can update securely from Settings → About. Leave Automatic Updates enabled for normal use, or choose Check Now whenever you want to look for a new release. The App Store version is updated through the App Store.

See the time Ravioli saves

Open Statistics & Achievements to see clipboard activity, active days, source apps, and milestone progress. Newly unlocked achievements appear in a celebration panel with their artwork and description.

Click any achievement to open the larger detail view. Unlocked achievements can be shared through the standard macOS share sheet.

Send feedback without leaving Ravioli

Open Settings → Feedback, choose Feedback or Feature Request, write your message, and send it directly. No browser or mail app is required.

The request includes the Ravioli version, build, and macOS version so reports are easier to diagnose. Clipboard and snippet contents are never attached.

Local by default

Privacy, masking, and backup

Clipboard history, recognized image text, and snippets are stored locally in your macOS Application Support folder. Ravioli does not upload this content to Plane and Ladybird.

Sensitive-data masking hides parts of detected emails, card and bank numbers, phone numbers, IBANs, and token or password values in menus. Masking changes only what is displayed; the original text remains available for pasting.

For a portable backup, export the snippet library from Settings and keep the resulting Ravioli archive somewhere safe. Clipboard history is separate from the snippet archive.
